Het Residentie Orkest Den Haag, één van de meest innovatieve orkesten in Nederland, bewijst meer dan ooit dat symfonische muziek ook in de 21e eeuw voor een groot en breed publiek van betekenis is. Het orkest is gevestigd in Amare, het nieuwe onderwijs en cultuurcomplex, in het hart van Den Haag. Naast de symfonische canon voert het orkest ook nieuw werk en cross-over programma’s uit. Het orkest is veelvuldig te horen op de grote podia in Nederland en diverse podia in het buitenland. In de rijke geschiedenis van het orkest waren dirigenten als Hans Vonk, Evgenji Svetlanov, Jaap van Zweden, Neeme Järvi en Nicholas Collon als chef-dirigent verbonden aan het internationaal opererende ensemble.

Anja Bihlmaier is de huidige chef-dirigent en Richard Egarr en Jun Märkl zijn als vaste gastdirigent aan het orkest verbonden. Met ingang van seizoen 2025/2026 zal Jun Märkl de rol van chef-dirigent op zich nemen. 

Een van de speerpunten in de ambities van het Residentie Orkest is het educatieve beleid. Jaarlijks participeren meer dan 30.000 scholieren in educatieve projecten waarmee het Residentie Orkest dé aanjager van muziekeducatie is in Den Haag. Het orkest heeft daartoe een educatie- en maatschappelijk programma ontwikkeld voor alle leeftijden, waarmee het Residentie Orkest bijdraagt aan de sociale cohesie in Den Haag.

Het orkest is steevast betrokken bij belangrijke gebeurtenissen zoals de jaarlijkse Troonrede. Ook viert het orkest samen met de bewoners van (groot) Den Haag feestdagen zoals kerst, nieuwjaar, Koningsdag, Prinsjesdag en Divali. Belangrijk zijn de samenwerkingen met Haagse en nationale partners als het Nationaal Theater, Amare, Nederlands Danstheater, Koninklijk Conservatorium, Festival Classique, Paard, De Nationale Opera, Nederlandse Opera Academie en de omroepseries van AvroTros en NTR.

Het orkest werkt hiernaast met talloze partners in de stad samen in het kader van maatschappelijke activiteiten met en voor de community.

2e/4e hoorn (75%)

De functies

De hoorngroep bestaat momenteel uit twee aanvoerders, een 3e hoorn en een 2e/4e hoorn. In aanvulling hierop zoeken wij een tweede collega voor de 2e/4e hoornpositie. Naast het spelen van symfonisch werk in orkestverband ben je inzetbaar voor (educatieve en maatschappelijke) activiteiten en podiumpresentaties in kleinere bezetting.

Functie eisen

Het spreekt voor zich dat je je onderscheidt als hoornist, waarbij je in staat bent je aan te passen aan de speelstijl en klankkleur van de groep. Wij vinden het essentieel dat elke collega een ambassadeur voor ons orkest is en naast de collectieve podiumactiviteiten meewerkt aan educatieve en maatschappelijke activiteiten en producties in ensembleverband. Je kenmerkt je als een positief geëngageerde teamspeler die de juiste balans weet te vinden tussen eigenheid en het collectief.

• Neuling: Bagatelle;

• Nader te bepalen orkestpartijen.

The Residentie Orchestra the Hague, one of the most innovative orchestras in the Netherlands, is proving more than ever before the importance of symphonic music for a large and wide audience, even in the 21st century. The orchestra is based in Amare, the new educational and cultural complex in the heart of The Hague. In addition to the symphonic canon, the orchestra also performs new work and cross-over programmes. The orchestra can be heard in the major concert halls in the Netherlands and at a range of foreign venues. During its rich history,  the orchestra has been led by a series of chief conductors including Hans Vonk, Yevgeny Svetlanov, Jaap van Zweden, Neeme Järvi and Nicholas Collon.

Anja Bihlmaier is the current chief conductor and Richard Egarr and Jun Märkl are the orchestra's regular guest conductors. Starting with the 2025/2026 season, Jun Märkl will take on the role of chief conductor.

The Residentie Orchestra maintains a prominent presence in the city, playing open air concerts and providing educational projects at innumerable schools. The orchestra has an established involvement in such important events as the annual Troonrede, or King's Speech Day. The orchestra also celebrates major public holidays alongside the population of The Hague and surrounding area, with concerts at Christmas, New Year, King's Day, Prince's Day and Diwali. Collaborations with local and national partners such as the Dutch National Theatre, Festival Classique, Paard, Dutch National Opera, the Dutch National Opera Academy and the AvroTros and NTR broadcast series are just as important.

The orchestra works alongside numerous partners in the city on social activities with and for the community.

The position

The horn section currently comprises two principals, one 3rd horn and one 2nd / 4th horn. In addition, we are now looking for another 2nd / 4th horn. In addition to playing symphonic repertoire in the orchestra, you will also be available for (educational and social) activities and staged performances in smaller ensembles.

Requirements for the position

It goes without saying that you stand out as a horn player, being able to adapt to the playing style and timbre of the group. We consider it essential that each of our players is an ambassador for our orchestra. You must be a positive team player who can strike the right balance between individuality and sectional playing.
